Abel Mutua opens up on raising a daughter

The TV mogul spoke on his interesting life as a dad

Abel Mutua spoke in an interview with SPM Buzz this past week. One of the things that he addressed was his relationship with his 12-year-old daughter, Stephanie Mumbua.

He was effusive in his praise for his daughter saying,

"Girls are just wonderful. There is a respect that they accord their dads that their mothers don't get. Even in Judy screams how, ohhh...Me, I will say it once. It's bedtime now. And she is of to bed. It's beautiful to have a small human being that is obedient to what to tell them."

But not all was sun and roses, as there were some tough conversations that he had faced about boys and changes in her body,

"But when she grows up is when you see that the time for fun and games is over. So now there are some conversations that have started that leave me very confused, you don't know how to deal with them. Slowly by slowly, you start hearing, 'But you know I like this guy'. 'Ei! ei! Aje!? We have said that you'll stay right here until you reach the tender age of 46-years. You are starting to bring a boyfriend at 11!"

Abel still maintained that despite the difficulty in the conversations, he still wanted his daughter to be free talking to him and his wife, Judy. Abel admitted that his daughter had shocked him when she told him she had started cramping,

"That is a child and it had never happened before to her. I was shocked because she was now a woman. Although she didn't know it, everyone around saw how scared I was. At the moment I can't imagine my daughter bringing me a child and yet she is still a child. That would disturb me."
