Musician Jaguar says being betrayed by friends is what inspired his hit song Kigeugeu. The song talks bout betrayal from all walks of life, a doctor who betrays a patient, politicians betraying the public, etc.

Speaking during an interview on Mambo Mseto, Jaguar shared,

'There is a song Kenzo Matata and Full stop were doing and he requested I appear in the video. People started saying I was selling drugs.

They would say I had HIV/Aids, when  I bought a new car they would say I am being kept by a woman.

So one day I wondered why people I considered friends would say that. Why wouldn't they be happy for me if I moved from Umoja to Buruburu? '

Adding,

'I want to thank my friends and my enemies because if it were not for them singepata hio idea. People think "Kigeugeu" is a political song but I wrote the song because of friends who betrayed me.'

On whether he still is on good terms with the 'friends', Jaguar responded,

'Most of these people are no longer in my life. Right now I am in a different chapter of my life.'
