• Njoro said the 'Makanga' job made it easy for him to get to town as he was starting off his acting career since he would not pay bus fare

Papa Shirandula actor Kenneth Gichoya, popularly known to many as Njoro was a tout after high school.

Speaking in a recent interview with Buzz Central, Njoro said he would earn Ksh50 bob every day from the job which he did for four years.

He said the 'Makanga' job made it easy for him to get to town as he was starting off his acting career since he would not pay bus fare from Rongai to Town.

"I was a Makanga then since acting was not sustaining me," he said.

"I used my talent to get to town since transport was not easily available. At some point, I would get some money from there. I was funny and so the passengers liked me. Acting later became a passion to me. I did Makanga like four years and later ventured in acting."

He added;

"I was earning 1500 bob per month."

Speaking from his own experience, Njoro said most Makangas are loved by young girls.

"How did you bag the hottest girls in town with only 50 bob per day as a salary?

Njoro explained;

"Most of the girls are always locked in the houses so when they come out, Makangas treat them very well, we buy them ice creams and the bad boy in them makes young girls love them. The free rides also entice girls so much."

Njoro has since become a household name in the industry after featuring in most local TV shows.
