In a social media post, Femi said she was intimidated by artists who could rap in foreign accents.

She says the artists only started treating Sheng rappers with respect after realizing they are the most liked by Kenyan audiences.

Fellow rapper Maandy also shared her part of the story, how she was told her music can not be exported because it's in Sheng.

"The number of times I have been told my music can’t be exported naangalianga Stats zangu nashangaa mlikua mnasema nini. Wacha tubaki na numbers wabaki na kizungu !" Maandy shared.

Femi assured that Sheng rappers will one day go international.
