Kiss FM's Jalang'o has asked his fans to stop calling him 'Mheshimiwa (Honourable)'.
Jalang'o said that he doesn’t support the idea of calling elected leaders ‘Mheshimiwa’ yet they are put in office to serve people but they do not deliver.
"Life is very beautiful and really strange… I have openly declared my candidature for Lang’ata as the next member of Parliament! Oh My! It has been a roller-coaster and a beautiful journey!"
Adding, "Everyone now calls me Mheshimiwa and I get surprised and confused! Yes! How do you call yourself Mheshimiwa when the people you represent are still hungry, angry, hopeless and almost giving up in life? How do you sleep in peace knowing you are Mheshimiwa and there is nothing to show for it?"
Jalas continued:
"They say Jalas is just talking because he is not in yet! Akiingia atasahau (When he gets the seat he'll change)! I hope I don’t! That’s why my slogan is Utu na Watu, humanity and people! So please don’t call me Mheshimiwa until I have done the work to deserve that name!! #Langata1 #UtuNaWatu."
