Kenyan music has greatly evolved with people slowly embracing vernacular songs.

Back in the day, it would have been considered backward and not soooo-cool to sing in your mother tongue but what was once frowned upon is slowly being embraced.

There is a new crop of artists who have learned that we can't all sing in English or Swahili.

Some of these artists include

Vekta Kenya

Vekta is a celebrated Kisii artiste.

Although he sometimes sings in English and Swahili, he is well known for his vernacular songs with his most famous song being 'Ntwarwara Tiga Toragere.'

He is currently riding the airwaves with a new jam 'Gusii Anthem'.

Samidoh

He is Kenya's most loved Mugithi artiste thanks to his melodious voice.

all of his songs are sung in Kikuyu.

The shocking fact however is that he has fans from all races.

Here is his most famous song 'Wendo Wi Cama.'

Samiddoh is set for a Mugithi US tour next week.

Kasolo

Kasolo is a celebrated gospel artist well known for his mastery of the Kamba language.

Although he sings in other languages Kasolo is well known for singing in Kamba.

His most famous song is 'Kyaa Kya Ngai' which features Lilian Muli as the video vixen.

Emma Jalamo

Emma Jalamo is a celebrated Luo artiste whose songs on YouTube have garnered millions of views.

He is well-loved not only by his Luo fans but by Kenyans in general.

Although not everyone understands the songs the beats alone makes you want to dance.

Prince Inda

The  list would be endless without us mentioning Prince Inda

His latest masterpiece is the jam 'Adhiambo' featuring Bahati.

The song features Embakasi MP Babu Owino and Jaguar as vixens.

Although as Mundu was nyumba I can't understand what Inda is saying I can feel the vibe he has brought to the song.
