'Fallen soldiers'; This has become a common term in social media platforms to describe women's sagging breasts.

Whenever a woman posts photos online, there are body shamers who concentrate on looking at specific features on the body.

'RIP to the fallen soldiers!' they will write. By this, they mean that one's breasts appear to be sagging.

But, hey body shammers, women do not owe anyone 'firm breasts' nor an explanation as to why their breasts are 'sagging'.

Many people do not understand that sagging breasts do not mean that a woman is old, neither does it mean they have a number of children.

Yes, these are some of the causes of sagging breasts, but not all.

There are breasts that appear to be sagging even when one has not breastfed, or when they are still young.

When it comes to age, breasts start to get saggy when a woman reaches menopause. So, when a young lady's breasts appear to be sagging, it does not mean she is old.

Here are some other reasons why breasts sag;

1. Body mass index

Women with a higher body mass index (BMI) tend to have larger breasts, with a high probability of sagging.

2. Exercising

Exercising without support one's breasts can strain its ligaments and cause sagging.

3. Genetics

Breast sagging could also be a result of inherited genetic characteristics.

4. Smoking

Women who like to puff cigarettes are likely to have saggy breasts as their skin may lose elasticity.

5. Weight loss or gain

Gaining or losing weight within a short period can change the shape of breasts or cause them to shrink.
