Genge artist Major Nameye Khadija alias Mejja's song Tabia za Wakenya has been pulled down from Youtube over copyright claims.
The song, which is hardly a month old had garnered around 1.6 Million views on the platform.
"Hii Ndio Ngoma IMe Strike #TabiaZaWaKenya Kwa YouTube UJINGA!!!! YaaNi I Am Speechless, NiMeTumiwa Kwa Mail Na YouTube YaaNi UFala Na Deal NaYo Hate Ingine Noma But I Will Never Give In But I Am Done Being The Humble Guy Hii Na Deal NaYo!!!! YaaNi NiMeskia Vibaya Manze Juu Nimeambiwa Rule Ya YouTube Ni It Doesn't Matter Kama NiKo Right Lazima Ikae Two Weeks Ndio Irudi YouTube SIR JAH AKO Na Mimi YOU Can SLOW ME DOWN BUT I AM NOT GIVING IN GOD ABOVE EVERYTHING," Mejja wrote after the song was pulled down.
However, an upcoming artist identified as Revina accused Mejja and producer Vicky Pondis of taking his music.
When Revina reached out to blogger Robert Alai, Mejja disputed the claims;
"NiLiKuwa Mimea Zangu NaKuTaNa Na Hii UFala, YaaNi Hate on Another Level, I Am The Same Person Helping New Artist Sasa Leo NiMeKuwa NaChuKuwa Doba Inaitwa DuNia, If Hii Ni Design Yaku Ni Slow Down Siwachi KUTOA NGOMA BELIEVE THAT HADI NIFE GOD ABOVE EVERYTHING," he said.
