Besides being hailed as one of the best mix-masters Kenya has ever had, DJ Mantix is known for courting controversy in equal measure. He posted semi-nude pictures of women on his social sites in the name of promoting his “writing” on women and relationships.

But deep within this dread-locked man, whose fall out with millionaire Joe Kariuki at Candy N Candy Records almost turned physical, is a humble soul. A soul which is in love with his family.

To prove his loving nature towards his family, DJ Mantix penned a beautiful and moving letter for his young daughter that could easily melt your heart. He posted it on his social media accounts.

It reads:

“A letter to our daughter.

Dear Lulu Waridi,

Your mother and I don't yet have the words to describe the hope you give us for the future. Your new life is full of promise, and we hope you will be happy and healthy so you can explore it fully. You've already given us a reason to reflect on the world we hope you live in.

Like all parents, we want you to grow up in a world better than ours today.

While headlines often focus on what's wrong, in many ways the world is getting better. Health is improving. Poverty is shrinking. Knowledge is growing. People are connecting. Technological progress in every field means your life should be dramatically better than ours today.

We will do our part to make this happen, not only because we love you, but also because we have a moral responsibility to Lulu and your siblings.

We're so happy to welcome our daughter Lulu into this world. Everyone is happy and healthy. Thank you for all your love and support through our pregnancy. There is so much joy in our little family. Mob love to Otieno's (DjMantixx) Family.”
