Over the last few weeks, we've seen Kenyan musicians clash with their indirect promoters; the people who play their music. Their argument has been that they need to be payed for their. They want the Dj's to be paying them for they are playing their music, just like the radio stations do.

There's one major step that will solve this issue. The corporate sector is slowly investing in our Dj's so that they have sufficient income other than making mixes. This kind of endorsement for a long time been ingrained in the music industry, especially in Kenya. The case may be different abroad as top entertainers like David Guetta and Paris Hilton get corporate gigs.

In Kenya, Skyy Vodka has just made Dj Xclusive their brand ambassador. This will disrupt the local entertainment scene.

"I was happy and privileged for Skyy vodka to select me as a brand ambassador simply because it means that someone out there is watching you putting in the work and that the corporate world is willing to invest in our art as Djs," he revealed.

"I intend to learn from this opportunity on how to work with corporate on brand development seeing it's my first brand ambassador position... To grow my brand 'Xclusive' even as we work on growing Skyy vodka as a the number one premium vodka in Kenya," he revealed.

This hasn't come easy. I remember Dj Xclusive from up to 3 years ago. He's definitely a go-getter. The Kiss TV Dj had this advice for young people who want to make it as he has managed to.

"My advice to those who follow and look up to me is work, hustle hard and grind hard!! There is always someone out there who is watching and as long as you grow within the art then one day you will get an invitation to the table,'" he adds.
