Nimo, born Wairimu Kiai,– the multi-talented Kenyan singer-songwriter teamed up with East Africa’s finest DJ, DJ Mantixx, one of the biggest street deejays in Kenya and singer-songwriter Maila to create the hit song Ganda.
The trio had an immediate connection that ended up in the creation of the song, combining skill, prowess and extensive knowledge of different sounds, everyone had something great to contribute to the project.
Of these, he had studied and noted specific elements that are present in the songs that makes them hits and this he ensured was fused into the creation process of “Ganda”.
Maila brings on board her singing and writing prowess. The three combined their unique elements to produce the super hit GANDA.
“GANDA” is a mid-tempo song fused in the sweet African coastal sounds of taarab and performed in Swahili language.
It narrates the love that develops between two lovers to the point of clumping together as milk does when it goes sour and cannot be undone. It expresses how irreversible this love is and the only way to go is deeper.
