A policeman shot dead his girlfriend before turning the gun on himself in Nakuru Town in the latest such murder and suicide in the service.

Last week, a policeman attached to before turning the gun on him in Nairobi’s Tom Mboya street after a disagreement.

The woman died on the spot while the officer succumbed to his injuries in hospital. Such cases are common in the service.

And now, this Nakuru incident crops up also similar to the Nairobi love killing.

Constable Stephen Kimani of Molo police station followed the woman to Nakuru Town where he shot here seven times after an argument before turning the gun on himself.

The bodies of Kimani and his 25 year old girlfriend identified as Susan Njeri were found on Kanu Street with an AK 47 rifle with 11 bullets besides them.

The motive of the shooting is believed to be a love triangle.

Police moved the bodies to the mortuary pending a probe into the incident.

A friend of Susan has posted a tribute to her saying she received a call from her on Monday not knowing that that would be the last time they talked.

"Death! Death!

How i wish i could have known Monday's call was the last call i would receive from you, Death y are you so cruel taking away such a young and promising soul.. My aunty, best friend, confidant, family.....how i wish tears would be ladders to heaven i would be visiting you every second... R. I. P sweety wangu... Shine on your way love.. Watch over us when you there... I just can't take it.. It's too much..." wrote Wanga Njunge
