Popular singer Akothee is not one to shy away from speaking out her mind and her life story.

The singer through a lengthy post praised her mother in law whom she stayed with for 10 years before ending her marriage with the father of her three daughters, Jared Okello.

Akothee posted pictures of herself, Jared and her children with her mother in law and showered her with praises for taking care of her while she was married to her son.

The singer also went ahead to crown herself as the best daughter in law any mother in law could have advising women on respecting their mother in laws.

Esther Akoth alias Akothee may be termed in many ways but being outspoken and courageous stands out.

The mother of five from time to time does not shun away from advising young women citing her life story as an example.

On Sunday, the musician posted a picture of her mother in law Margaret Auma.

The singer narrates her first encounter with her at the age of 14 when she ran away from home to be with the life of her life Jared.

Unlike most women who paint their mother in laws as the villain of the story, for Akothee she considers Margaret Auma as her second mother.

Akothee lived with her for 10 years as Jared went back to school and Margaret took care of her while she was pregnant.

For Akothee, her mother in law is very important to her and says won't cut ties with her just because her marriage to Jared failed as she holds her close to her heart.

Akothee wrote in the post on her Instagram page of her mother in law being the first person to know of her pregnancies.

"She is the second mother I know after my mother....She would be the first to know when I am pregnant, after vomiting for over 3 months calling it Malaria." She wrote on the post.

Akothee further shared with fans of her mother in law catering for her needs such as paying the hospital bills and getting her maternity clothes citing no regrets of ever being part of her family, a rare scene in a Kenyan set up where such ties are usually cut off after the end of a marriage with the usual bad blood relationship between a daughter and mother in law.

The 'Sweetlove' hit maker also went ahead to crown herself as the best daughter in law any mother in law can have citing her relationship with her daughter's grandmother.

"I am the best daughter in law any mother in law can have. We had our own shares, but I never disrespected her and always considered her as my mother." Wrote the outspoken artist.

She then questions on why in many families, daughters in law exchange arguments and haul insults on the mother of the man they are married to as she further added that it was time to take Care of her mother in law as she took care of her and the kids.
