Detectives are currently probing the murder of a middle-aged woman whose lifeless body was discovered abandoned by the roadside in Juja, Kiambu County.
The nude body was found dumped in the Gwa-Kairu area of Juja, according to information provided by the police.
Michael Mwaura, the Juja sub-county Police Commander, stated that they were informed by locals about the presence of a naked body at the scene.
Upon examination, the authorities noted visible physical injuries and bruises on the face of the deceased, and the surrounding area displayed signs of a struggle.
It remains unclear whether the woman was assaulted prior to her murder. Mwaura mentioned that a thorough autopsy would provide more details.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. Notably, leaves of muguka, a type of khat commonly known as 'Jaba' in Kenya, as well as groundnuts, were discovered at the crime scene, suggesting that the perpetrators might have been chewing the leaves.
Mwaura conveyed that the identity of the deceased is yet to be established, and the body has been transported to the General Kago funeral home in Thika County for a post-mortem examination as investigations continue.
This incident occurs in the aftermath of the murder of 24-year-old university student Rita Waeni Muendo in Roysambu on January 13. The primary perpetrator in Waeni's case remains unidentified and at large.
In recent weeks, the killing of socialite Starlet Wahu Mwangi in an apartment in South B has also been under investigation, leading to the apprehension of a suspect in connection with the crime.
