The body of the 23-year-old interior designer Jeff Mwathi is currently being exhumed days after Inspector General of police Japhet Koome ordered so.
Process of exhuming Jeff Mwathi's body is at their farm in Likia, Njoro Sub-County, Nakuru County.
Detectives said they would exhume the body as part of the ongoing probe into his death.
There will be a fresh autopsy.
Inspector General of police Japhet Koome on Sunday said they have found gaps in the incident and hence need to exhume the body to help their probe.
He said police are doing thorough investigations to ensure justice in the case.
"We will have that body exhumed look at the dimensions on where he is said to have passed at the window to drop to the ground floor. We are moving to court to seek an order for the exhumation," Koome said.
IG noted Jeff was buried long ago in Nyandarua and hence the need to seek an order to exhume the body.
Koome spoke at his office in Nairobi and warned anyone found responsible for the murder will face the full force of the law.
“Anyone found culpable will be held accountable,” he said.
Mugithi singer DJ Fatxo is the key suspect in the death of Jeff who allegedly fell from the 12th floor of a building where the singer lived.
Jeff's mum Hanna Wacuka said she hopes her son will get justice if his body will be exhumed.
"If we will get justice by exhuming his body, I am at peace with that. I feel okay since even if he is not exhumed, we still don't have him. There is nobody guarding my son's grave. We are the ones doing that. We are hopeful to God that my son will get justice so that his soul can rest," she said.
