A middle-aged woman is nursing broken limbs after she was thrown from the second floor of a lodging in an altercation with a man.

Attendants at the Kamukunji trading centre told police a man and woman had booked a room on the second floor at about 6 am on Monday.

A few minutes later, the attendants heard screams and commotion from the room. This was followed by a bang on the ground floor and on checking they realised it was the woman.

The woman told the attendants she had been pushed off the room by her companion after an argument.

The accused had by then sneaked out of the room and escaped to an unknown place.

The injured woman was rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital where she was admitted in stable condition. Police say they are yet to talk to her.

Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei said they are waiting for her to recover before they interrogate her.

“She is alive and we wait for her to recover to give us more information,” he said.

“We are also interrogating the attendants at the lodging as part of the probe into the incident.”

Meanwhile, a jailbird was lynched after a botched robbery in Dandora.

Zakaria, 35,  who had been released from jail after serving a sentence was beaten to death by a mob following a botched robbery on a woman.

Police said they had been informed the deceased attempted to rob an unidentified woman and in the process, he had stabbed her in the head before her screams alerted members of the public who responded and subjected him to mob injustice.

Police said the injured woman escaped the scene to the hospital and efforts to trace her were ongoing.
