Former Kiambu MCA Robert Kibe jailed for four years

The politician will now become a ward of the state

Robert Kibe, a former member of the Kiambu County Assembly has been jailed for four years for forging an academic certificate.

Appearing before the Milimani Anti-Corruption Court on Monday, the former MCA for Kiamwangi Ward was charged with making a false KCSE certificate purporting it to be a genuine certificate issued by Kenya National Examination Council.

Githongo was also charged with altering the fake KCSE certificate on December 29, 2014, at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, purporting it to be a genuine certificate from the exam body.

Kibe was convicted for two offences; making a false document contrary to section 347(a) as read with section 349 of the Penal Code, and uttering a false document contrary to section 353 of the Penal Code.

The former MCA was sentenced to four years in prison or pay a fine of Ksh.500,000 - Ksh.250,000 for each offence.
