A body of a two-year-old minor was today, morning discovered in a well within a construction site in Upper Kadawa village within Rachuonyo East Sub-county.

The minor identified as Greggory Otieno was discovered by women who had gone to wash sweet potatoes in the well in preparation for the business of the day.

Confirming the incident, the area Assistant Chief Michael Aoro, explained that he received information on the incident from one of the areas ‘Nyumba kumi’ leaders before he went to the scene along Oyugis-Kisumu road.

Aoro explained that circumstances surrounding the death of the minor were still unclear as the boy’s parents were away at the time.

“We are yet to know under whose care the boy was at the time of the incident as his parents Paul Otieno and Eunice Akinyi, were away,” said the Administrator.

Aoro urged parents to always monitor their children to avoid such eventualities, adding that there have been such cases in the recent past including road accidents involving children along the busy road.

The body of the minor was moved to Okita nursing home as police launch investigations on the matter.
