i figure by now that everyone knows about the brutal manner in which Virginia Nykio Maina met her demise right? Who you ask? Well, the deceased wife of the former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga. The lady's remains were found mutilated in a forest!

And while I would think that is enough and the world cannot throw more at her, she is back making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Cliff Ombeta is caught in a dispute between Umash Funeral Services and ex-Mungiki leader Maina Njenga over unpaid bills for preservation of the body of the former sect leader’s first wife and three other people Umash has filed a suit seeking to compel Mr Ombeta and his law firm to pay an outstanding Sh850,000 balance for the services it provided between 2008 when the four were killed and 2010 when they were buried.

Mr Njenga’s first wife Virginia Nyakio Maina’s mutilated body was found in Gatoye Forest in Gatundu.

The initial bill was Sh5.6 million, but Mr Njenga and Kabete legislator Ferdinand Waititu cleared part of the amount in 2010 after being sued by Umash.

Mr Ombeta undertook to pay Sh1.3 million of the Sh2.7 million Umash was awarded. Umash says he paid Sh500,000 in January, but he is yet to settle the balance.

“On January 16, Mr Ombeta in partial fulfilment of the undertaking paid Sh500,000 leaving a balance of Sh850,000 which was to be paid before March 30. Mr Ombeta by virtue of being an advocate of the High Court should appreciate the gravity of giving a professional undertaking,” says Umash.

The funeral home last week agreed to grant Mr Ombeta until August 3 to settle the outstanding balance.
