Celebrated afro-jazz singer Achieng Abura has passed away. The sad news of her demise was broken on social media by fellow songstress Suzanna Owiyo who said the former had fought a good fight.
Abura passed away on Thursday at the private wing of the Kenyatta National Hospital. Unconfirmed reports indicate that she was being treated for gastritis, kidney problems and depression. She leaves behind her only child, a 23-year-old son named Prince, who is also unwell suffering from sickle cell. He is due to leave the country for further treatment after undergoing a blood transfusion earlier this week.
