Award-winning Kenyan photojournalist and activist Boniface Mwangi celebrated his wife's birthday yesterday and declared that they will also publicly declare their wealth on the International Anti-Corruption Day next week.

The vocal activist also praised the mother of his kids, whom he's been together with for almost a decade.

"Today is my best friend's birthday. We have known each other for almost ten years, and we have been married for seven years. She is one of the most reasonable people that l know. She brings reason and balance in my life. Great friend, wife and mother. Our friendship isn't perfect, we have fought, disagreed and lovingly agreed. It's true what they say behind every "successful" man there is a woman behind him. Today l celebrate her! It's her birthday, and we happen to be the best couple at a friend's wedding."

Even though I am a private Kenyan citizen and your expectation of me should be zero since I do not draw a salary from taxes, my wife and I shall declare our wealth on this coming International Anti-Corruption Day - 9th December 2015.
