Being a single parent can be overwhelming for anyone especially because you have to make your kid feel like the family is ‘complete’.

Being a celebrity has its perks but one thing you can never have is privacy; everybody is all up in your business.

Whenever you ask for the littlest form of privacy they hit you with the line, ‘’you are a public figure, you decided to put your life on display so deal with it!’’

All the pressures of being a single dad coupled with the glare of the public eye can sometimes drown one mentally.

Trying to have a semblance of a dating life

One of the advantages of being single is that you can date anyone you like without looking over your shoulder.

As a dad and the only parent to your child, your mind is always running on how to raise your son/daughter so that they turn out okay.

But there comes a time where you need to be a bit selfish and think of your own happiness.

You go out on dates, hook up with girls, come home late and never have to worry of cheating on anyone.

Of course, before you decide to loosen up you should hire a baby sitter, or just have somebody look after your offspring while you chase after women.

Dealing with the public's attention on your life

In the modern world being a single celebrity dad is a thing. You portray responsibility, love, passion and vulnerability; these are some of the things that make you so likeable.

As celebrity blogs, news segments, magazines and radios will always be talking about you, your ratings will shoot through the roof.

Brands and companies love public figures with high ratings, they will offer you lucrative contracts to increase their brand awareness.

All the hype brought around by being a single father will translate into good money if exploited smartly.

Monetizing your lifestyle as a single dad

The use of social media has increased significantly over the past few years. Folks are slowly moving away from traditional media and investing in good phones, tablets and Ipads.

Brands are now leaning towards Instagram, Facebook and Twitter as ways of advertising.

Content right now is being consumed at a very high rate and a single celeb dad can take advantage of this change and create content based on being a single parent.

A lot of people understand the hustles of raising a family as a single parent but will want to see how a celebrity handles the same situation.

If a celebrity starts a reality show based on his life experience as a single dad, it will do huge numbers because of all the hype surrounding him.

The pressure of having the sole responsibility to raise your child

As a single dad, you are the ‘boss’; it’s up to you to raise your child in whichever way you see fit, your wife is not around to voice her opinion.

Don’t get me wrong though, all am trynna say is that you are the one to decide on your kid’s schooling, type of clothes they will wear, places they will visit, TV programs to watch and any life lessons you can think of.

Your children listen only to you and this btw is a good ego booster for men. We as men love being depended on, the feeling that we can provide for our families is quite fulfilling. The future of your young one is in your hands.

Lack of privacy

Privacy is something that doesn’t exist in a celebrity’s life, everything he does is scrutinized to the smallest of details.

Raising a kid especially a teenager is not as easy as some people make it look, it involves lots of patience and sacrifices.

Sometimes you have a small disagreement at home and your daughter decides to go extra and rant on social media.

It won’t take long before your ‘dirty linen’ starts to trend. Bloggers and paparazzi will pick it up and suddenly people are judging you without knowing the whole story, everybody is suddenly opinionating on how you should raise your child.

Just because you are famous a minor spat between you and your daughter will be exaggerated into this huge fight.

Having to hide their real-life issues

You are rich, famous and is adored by millions of people around the world. When people see your social media they think you are happy but on the real loneliness is killing you, this is the face of depression.

A lot of celeb dads are suffering secretly just to protect their ‘brands’. These are some of the things that keep convincing me that money and fame can’t buy happiness.

Being a single celebrity dad has its pros and cons but at the end of the day all these men out there raising kids on their own are human too, they deserve empathy just like anybody else.

We should not be quick to crucify them on the slightest misstep, life runs at everyone the same way and the only difference is how we react to it.
