On July 20th last year, Zari Hassan's mother Halima Hassan went to be with The Lord. She succumbed  at the Nakasero Hospital in Kampala,Uganda while undergoing treatment. Zari wrote:

It’s with deep sorrow that my family and I announce the death of our lovely mother who passed on this morning. May her soul rest in peace, May Allah forgive you your sins and grant you Jana.

You will forever be loved our Old Sun, us as your kids were given the best from God as our mother. We appreciate all you did for us. We will forever cherish you Mama.

Sleep well. 

A year later, she remembered her mother, describing her as a queen that represented queens.

"In loving memory of my beloved departed mother.... A Queen that represented the meaning of a Queen.

We loved you so much but God loved you more..... see you one day. REST IN PEACE QUEEN HALIMA may Allah grant you jana💔"

She then posted:

The burial was conducted in accordance with the Muslim traditions. Zari’s younger brother who is commonly known as Tingdis announced that their mother’s medical bill was Ush55 millon – which is Ksh 1.5 million.

From all the cash, the socialite brought in 7 million Uganda shillings which is approximated to be Ksh 200,000.
