Hii dunia hakuna cha bure. Eat from your toil and you will live in peace. But for these five gangsters, their prophetic 40 days had arrived. Police in Changamwe, Mombasa and Nairobi's Kayole area this morning killed five suspected criminals who have been terrorizing residents in these areas.

In Mombasa, the two suspects Jumba Simba and Said Bare, were on the police radar for a series of robberies within Mombasa and its environs. They were gunned down at Kibangani area within Jomvu in Changamwe. Several police attire including uniforms, radio-calls, handcuffs and drilling machine were recovered.

In Nairobi, officers shot dead three others and recovered three pistols in a botched robbery in Kayole. A police officer was shot and wounded in the Kayole incident. The officers had trailed the three to their hideout where they managed to kill them. One of the recovered pistol had been robbed from a police officer last month in Huruma area.

Newly-posted Changamwe DCIO Francis Wanjau led officers, who gunned down the two, in Mombasa. Wanjau was formerly the flying squad Deputy Chief Nairobi area. A loaded G3 rifle believed to belong to police, with registration number KE KP J63181K, was also recovered.

Changamwe Police Boss Stephen Cheteka said that the suspects were trailed from Mombasa CBD and were later gunned down after they were cornered by police.

"The G3 rifle had been tampered with. We highly suspects it's a police rifle but we are waiting for ballistic confirmations," he said.
