Whoever said that robbers live on borrowed time, yaani, their days are numbered was so right. You can't possibly rely on other peoples' sweat. They are out there toiling their a**es out, only for you to execute an ambush and rob them.

For one robber though, the proverbial 40th day arrived on Monday, November 28, 2016, after he was shot dead after an attempt to raid the posh home of 2013 presidential aspirant Peter Kenneth in Nyali Estate, Mombasa, was foiled.

He was in the company of three others, who managed to escape with bullet wounds.

According to the police, the suspected robbers, armed with crude weapons, had gained access into Kenneth's compound on a robbery mission at around 4am.

Mombasa County Police Commander Peterson Maelo said that the suspects were warned to surrender before they were shot at.

“The suspects were challenged but they defied police orders, prompting police to open fire,” said Maelo.

He added that police had launched a manhunt for the escaped suspects.

Kenneth, a former Gatanga MP, who has declared that he won't be vying for the presidency in the 2017 general elections, had not commented over the aborted attack on his home. He was not at the home during the incident.
