A husband who loses a wife is called a widower. A wife who loses a husband is called a widow. A child who loses his parents is called an orphan, but there is no word/name for a parent who loses a child.

Dr Doreen Adisa Lugaliki’s parents are mourning her death.

The experienced doctor was admitted at Aga Khan University hospital on Monday, July 5 at
10 pm, and diagnosed with Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA).

On Wednesday 7th, her condition deteriorated after testing positive for Covid-19 and was transferred to the ICU where she succumbed to complications arising from Covid-19 on the morning of July 10.

Mr and Mrs Lugaliki eulogized their daughter as a brilliant girl and advisor of the family.

‘Adisa, our daughter, our strong brilliant sweet girl. Life will never be the same. We will miss the laughter and the joy you created and the unity you always brought in the family. The immense love you had for us, your love for your children, nieces and nephews was deep and we thanked God for you always. Our family doctor and great advisor, your values as a person will never be forgotten and your legacy will live on. You have forever made us proud. Adisa, the pain in our hearts cannot even be measured and you have left with a piece of our hearts. Rest in peace mwana, your memories will keep us strong until we meet again in the arms of our Lord. God loved you most Ady,’ read their tribute.
