Churchill is arguably the father of Kenyan comedy. He has made huge contributions to the Kenyan entertainment industry for the last 15 years. His biggest achievement this year has been sharing the stage with Daily Show host Trevor Noah. It happened in Johannesburg, South Africa at the International Comedy Festival.

Later on, he attended the BET Africa Experience event where he was joined on stage by other top African comedians, including Jason Goliath and Tats Nzoko.

In 2014, the show host opened up about his first performance in a CNN feature. He revealed that it was so bad that he had to stop doing comedy for a while.

""My first joke ... they switched off the mic," he said. "It was too boring...even [to] myself," he added. He almost quit pursuing his talent after the embarrassing incident.

"We left the stage and we promised ourselves never to do comedy again, but I went back and with practice and a lot of encouragement, we just found ourselves getting addicted to the stage and that's exactly what we are doing up until now," the performer concluded.

On the feature, other African comedians were also profiled. They include South Africa's Trevor Noah and Daliso Chaponda from Malawi. You can read it .
