Well, even you can be a pope, all you need to do is google "how to be a pope" and start grooming yourself for the Bishop of Rome and the leader of the worldwide Catholic Church.

Out of the 266 Popes that have ruled the Catholic church, not all of them were old. Actually there are those who became popes when they were still teenagers.

According to Wikipedia, the information to determine the age of the youngest popes upon election is frequently unavailable, as many popes have completely unknown dates of birth. The probable youngest popes are:

  • Pope Benedict IX (who became pope at an unknown age between 11 and 20)

  • Pope John XII (who was 18 at the beginning of his papacy)

  • Pope John XI (who was 20 at the beginning of his papacy)
  • Pope Gregory V (who was 24 at the beginning of his papacy)
