There have been rumors that Lupita Nyong'o's scenes were cut off from the munch anticipated 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' movie which premieres on 18th December. Lupita has taken to social media to share photos of hers doing promotions for the project in Los Angeles. This has been a direct response to skeptics who thought that she wouldn't live up to her role in the popular film series.

To clear the air, the movie's director J.J Abrahams told Page Six in an interview that all these rumors were pure BS.

"The number of rumors floating around about The Force Awakens is truly stunning. Some are wonderfully funny, others simply preposterous,” the film maker, who worked on 2008's Cloverfield said.

Lupita Nyong'o was announced as part of the cast in June 2014. She landed in LA on 3rd December for the promotion of the film.

“In truth, her performance wasn’t satisfactory. It was spectacular. She has brought the character of Maz Kanata to life in the most wonderful, wise, touching, deep and funny way. Lupita never ceased to amaze me," Abrams concluded.
