Kenya's pop stars from the group Sema have been on everyone's lips when news broke that Pam Waithaka was .

Sanaipei who was one third of the trio - that comprise of Pam and Kevin -has come out to talk about it.

In a recent episode of Ebru TV's Let's Talk, Sana dished out on the real reason why the group split.

"Well, I'd be lying if I'd be saying we've been keeping in touch. We haven't. I think in very many interviews I've been clear we were never friends. We won a competition, (were) brought together for a common purpose...a common purpose died. That is it. we never developed that kind of bond," she revealed.

Sanaipei said her music journey after the breakup was aided purely by a strong support system, her family.

"They really kept pushing me and they have been there all the step of the way. Family first for me. Second, showbiz did not get into my head it did not change who i am. It was never, 'Oh my God I'm Sanaipei Tande'. I'm a celeb on stage performing, or on TV and radio during interviews and that hasn't changed. Away from that I'm just me. I do music for the right reasons."

Sanaipei went on to reveal that she actually meet with Pam and they had a conversation about her "alcoholism".

"A lot of people were asking me about Pam on Instagram, I read a comment somewhere saying, 'The monied Sanaipei should step up and help Pam'. I was like, you do not know my struggles?. Don't talk about somebody like you know. And that is why, when they asked me about Pam, I said this is a private issue that will be dealt with privately.

Sana continued, "I'm not going to be that chile, ati i'm going to look for her at the wines and spirit and say, 'Pam, lets take a photo so that I can post it'. And then what? People don't understand that when you are an addict of alcohol, it is a disease. Because it gets to a point where it is not really you anymore. You will do anything for that drink. I will not go and sit here and say how Pam got there, yes we saw the story, yes we say the pictures. But I'm not going to sit there and say, yes she was an addict or an alcoholic."

"I meet her, i asked her how she was doing, she was like ,'Ah, you know, everyone has moments.' She had a moment. I have had moments. Everyone has had moments. The most important thing is to realise, 'You know what? If I continue with this i'm going to mess up. Si take a step back," she concluded.

Sanaipei also revealed that Kevin is performing with a band that has gigs at a local restaurant.
