President Uhuru Kenyatta has extended the nationwide curfew to January 3, 2021. The night curfew was adjusted to 10 pm to 4 am.

Addressing the nation, Uhuru said,

'All political gatherings and rallies are suspended for a period of 60 days with immediate effect. Anyone wishing to hold such meetings should do so in town halls and must observe all COVID protocols, including limiting the attendees to one-third seating capacity of the hall.'

All bars and restaurants have to close at 9 pm.

But this year's festive seasons will not be same as Kenyans won't be allowed to stay out till late on Christmas day and New Year's eve to celebrate.

Also, city residents who throng KICC on New Year's eve to watch fireworks displays as they usher in a new year will miss the tradition.
