This December we have witnessed an explosion of accidents. But they are not the only bad ones that we have had in this year of 2017. Clearly, there is something wrong with our roads, be it the drivers, the state of the roads, or the road-worthiness of the vehicles.

We have decided to compile a list of bad road accidents that occurred in  2017.

December 16- 17 people died in a grisly road accident on the Thika-Garissa highway near Kilimambogo area. Police at Ngoliba police station said the accident involved a lorry and a matatu at around 8:30pm. Thika Traffic Base Commander Michael Lemaiyan said 4 other people died while undergoing treatment at the Thika Level 4 hospital while two others were in critical condition at the same facility.

Dec 12, 2017-More than 37 people are feared dead after a multiple vehicle crashes at Sachagwan on the Eldoret-Nakuru highway. The 12 pm accident involved 15 vehicles including a trailer, a Modern Coast bus, a Great Rift Valley matatu and a private car.

3. 12 die at the Salgaa blackspot

On November 24th, 2017. A bus and trailer have been involved in an accident on the notorious Salgaa black spot on the morning of Friday, November 24. The bus from Kampala was involved in a head-on collision with a trailer as the driver attempted to overtake at a near exact spot where an earlier dawn accident claimed the lives of 12 people.

4. 27 People Killed, Several Injured In Horrific Accident On The Mombasa-Nairobi Highway

More than 20 people died today morning in a grisly road accident after a bus they were traveling in collided with a tanker in Makindu near Kambu, in Makueni sub-county on Nairobi- Mombasa highway.

5. Photos: Gory Accident Along Thika Road Involving Four Vehicles Stuns Residents

A gory road accident on Thika Super Highway has left residents stunned. The accident involved a tipper lorry, Mwiki Sacco Limited (MSL) matatu, a Nanyuki Shuttle and a personal car. It is alleged the lorry blew it’s front tire and the MSL matatu hit the lorry behind, the impact saw it topple and fall on its side.
