A sheep known as Double Diamond was sold to a group of farmers by it's owner , a breeder identified as Charlie Boden.
What has shocked many is that the sheep whose origins can be traced back to Netherlands is only six months old.
Characteristics such as hair, the color and the shape of the head are what they look for to determine whether it is worth buying.
The animal was bought by a partnership of three farms — Auldhouseburn in Muirkirk, Ayrshire, New View in Staindrop, County Durham, and Procters in Wray, Lancs.
Procters flock manager Jeff Aiken said they plan to use their purchase to breed others. He said: “We had to pay that amount to get the genetics.
