What do artistes do when not in studio recording a song or thinking about the next hits? Most of them would go for a holiday, shopping or even partying with friends.
For Octopizzo, it was time to mentor young budding musicians from Kakuma Refugee camp, in a project dubbed “Artistes for Refugees”, which was organised by UNHCR in association with Film Aid.
The refugees were trained in fields such as music, cultural arts, journalism, photography and fine art.
The week was full of lively and engaging interactions between the artistes and the refugees. and his team facilitated workshops on capacity building (team building), photography, social media and basic story writing and interview skills.
