A South African woman has been arrested at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport after being found with cocaine valued at Sh17 million.

Police said the woman was on transit from Sao Paolo, Brazil to Cotonou, Benin when she was detained at the weekend.

She was intercepted at a screening point after the plane on transit stopped over at JKIA.

Police said, a white powder found inside the woman’s travelling bags was confirmed to be cocaine weighing four kilogrammes.

The arrest is the latest in the crackdown on drug trafficking through the airport.
