Police in Makueni Sub-county have launched investigations into the murder of a woman whose body was found at Central Guest House in Wote town on Sunday.

The woman who has been identified as Joyce, was an employee at the same guest house and her lifeless body was found lying on the bed in room number 3 at around 5.30pm on Sunday by Dominic Mburu.

Speaking to Kenya News Agency (KNA) in his Wote office on Monday, the Makueni County Police Commander Mr. Joseph Ole Naipeyan confirmed the incident.

“The woman had reported for the days shift at and took over from Mburu. However when Mburu reported back at five, he did not find her at the reception. He searched for her and found her lying in a pool of blood, her throat was slit. A kitchen knife was found below her head,” said Ole Naipeyan.

While saying no arrests have been made, the police commander said the handle of the killer weapon was found on the floor of the room and police are hunting for her killers.

He disclosed that the body of the deceased was taken to the Makueni Referral hospital Mortuary for preservation awaiting postmortem.
