Mike Okombe is a Kenyan rugby star who met his untimely death over the just past weekend after he was reportedly stabbed.

According to sources who were around when the incident occurred, Mike Okombe was in the company of a woman said to be his girlfriend and they were at a birthday party held in Kiamunyi estate, Nakuru.

Okombe had attended the birthday party, organized by his girlfriend’s sister, for her 8 year old child. The deceased was embroiled in a scuffle with his 37-year-old girlfriend who stabbed him at least twice.

It is reported that Mike Okombe met his death while still at the house in Nakuru as the people in attendance didn't take the injuries he'd sustained seriously because they were all drunk. No, really, they saw a man get stabbed and didn't figure he would bleed twice as fast given he had alcohol in his system...

Okombe was eventually rushed to Valley Hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival. His body had a wound on the left side of the chest and another on the left cheek.

According to The Standard, the murder suspect, Mike Okomb'e girlfriend went underground after committing the heinous crime. The murder weapon was also missing from the crime scene.

Police officers who visited the crime scene had difficulty investigating the killing as it emerged that blood stains in the house were cleaned, only leaving traces outside the house.

Okombe’s girlfriend, however, resurfaced on Monday November 6th. The 37-year-old lady surrendered to police on Monday accompanied by her lawyer. She, however, denies being involved in the murder of her 27-year-old boyfriend.
