Unknown details of the love affair between DJ John Rabar and media personality Amina Abdi while the latter was still working at Homeboyz Radio have surfaced.

Amina, who's now a presenter with Capital FM and the host of a breakfast show at K24, told True Love magazine that getting Rabar - who was her boss at the time - to even notice her was hard.

She said the problem might have been how she used to dress to work, adding that she was very broke and shady at the time. Amina also said that he was very afraid of John.

"I had just started working there when we met. John never talked to people much; he never spoke a word to me. I was shady and broke. I feared him really. He was very strict with work,” She said.

However, Amina and Rabar finally started talking to one another when they were on a trip in Mombasa.

One year down the line, Rabar asked her out for a date but to his surprise she only had tea because she believed one should only eat what they can pay for.

Unlike many couples, they did not start dating right after the date because she wasn't sure what he really wanted from her.

The two started dating in 2012 and their love blossomed into the beautiful relationship that they have today. Amina and Rabar were blessed with a son in 2014.
