Being obese or overweight is not good for your health. And apart from causing health problems, it can also lower one's self-esteem and Citizen TV's presenter Willis Raburu is a great example.

The multi-talented media personality recently embarked on a weight loss journey and he is doing wellso far.

Early last year, Raburu left his fans in a panic after he injured his leg and got hospitalized.

'HEY PEOPLE, SO YESTERDAY I DISLOCATED MY KNEE CAP, THAT WAS A NEW LEVEL OF PAIN…IF IT WASN’T FOR MY WORK MATES AND FRIENDS THOUGH I DON’T THINK I WOULD HAVE MADE IT THRU THE DAY JANA. SO NOW I’M ON KNEE BRACE AND CRUTCHES AS I UNDERGO SOME PHYSIOTHERAPY, ILL BE OUT OF WORK FOR A WHILE BUT WILL BE BACK! MEANWHILE KEEP ME IN YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS. LETS KEEP TALKING ONLINE ?' he posted on social media.

The jovial presenter shared the sad news alongside a photo of his injured leg.

This saw online bullies troll him and called him out for being overweight, asking him to start working out after he sent out a tweet saying singer Dela’s performance was on fire. But a KOT member took this quite literally and told him to use the fire to burn his calories.

It seems Raburu heard the 'advice' and together with his prayer partner, he has been working out. He revealed to Mpasho that he was looking forward to burning a lot of calories and who knows, soon he might be giving Eric Omondi a run for his money.

Well, in a recent interview with a local blog, he said:

"I visited Doctor Wangata and he ran a couple of tests and told me I was not doing too well on my cholesterol levels. So I reached out to my trainer now Evelyn Owala of Eveal Health and Fitness and started the journey."

Raburu also confessed that his previous body mass had taken a toll on his esteem which he says has shot up ever since he started working out

“I am more confident now. My esteem is way up, i know it’s hard to believe it was down. It made a difference in my pocket too because now I have to shop for new clothes; but it is a good problem hahaha! Plus I have lost about 9kgs!"

Did you know that?
