Woisheeee.. Digital Humanitarian Philip Ogola's Kidneys Are Failing, He Needs Your Help!

The bright brains behind the successful Kenya Red Cross iVolunteer hashtag campaign on Twitter that sought to provide information on the social media site about accidents and humanitarian alerts, which saw win awards at the first-ever Social Media Awards for the category of Social Media Innovation Of The Year, is appealing to anyone to help him raise Sh2 million so that he can go for further treatment.

"I urgently need specialised medical care, to help fix my kidneys, to be able to get back to doing what I do best; working for the good of all humanity. My humble prayer is that you'll join me raise Sh2 Million," reads wordings on his medical appeal post.

Philip Ogola has of late been in and out of the hospital and in September this year, he was even denied access to board a plane due to his medical condition.

"Barred from Boarding a flight because I have #catheter. Only allowed if I can pay an onboard doctor, oxygen cylinder and pay for medical facilitation. Another night in hospital. #MyKidneyStory," he wrote on social media accompanied by the photo below.

The father of two has not lost hope and he is thanking Kenyans for supporting him.

"#MyKidneyStory has inspired and given me hope that we have guardian angels among us.

Every time I look at my wristband reminds me of how there is hope for Kenya.

I have received support through this painful journey from Kenyans from all walks of life. Its humbling to have friends who go out of their way to uplift my spirit. Thank You."

In another emotional post, Ogola narrated how overwhelmed he was after receiving inspirational messages to people he has mentored.

"My eyes are welled with tears as I write this ....thanks to the undungu spirit to support my medical appeal.

The messages I'm getting from people i have touched , mentored , trained and those i helped while working at Kenya Red Cross have uplifted my spirit.

Its been one tough and painful journey battling kidney infection which has also impaired my vision.

Once again I want to thank all for the donations and uplifting messages."

Ogola, who has so far received close to Sh1.5 million, is positive about life and so is his wife. Philip's wife has taken to social media to urge Kenyans to help her husband raise the Sh 2 million so that he can be treated.

"You are such an amazing man and I know you are by far stronger than this illness.

We, our amazing sons and I are praying for your good health and quick recovery. You'll soon get back on your feet to do what you do best, as a Digital Humanitarian.I am inspired by how you still can find strength to help others even from your Sick Bed. It is evident that helping others is something that comes natural to you. It is a great gift that God instilled in you. Thank you for caring and for what you do.

I thought I knew you until I read some of the testimonies from people you've supported directly and indirectly. Wives of husbands who have same kidney condition like you have reached out to me and thanked you for taking us on your painful journey and inspiring many.

Thank you everyone for supporting my hubby #mykidneystory medical kitty. Every coin counts," She wrote accompanied by a photo of her young lovely family.
