Kenyans are still coming to terms with the untimely passing of afro-jazz musician Achieng Abura who died on Thursday, October 20th at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).
Reports indicate that the former Tusker Project Fame principal had been admitted at the private wing where she was being treated for depression, gastritis and kidney related ailments.
Before she passed away, Abura had set up an online fund on M-Changa to raise funds for her son, Prince Abura, who is suffering from sickle cell anemia as well as a heart-related condition.
Dubbed The Prince Abura Sickle Cell Fund, the account was established to raise Sh4,000,000 but only Sh717,995 had been collected as of we go to press.
She also sought help from renowned media personalities such as Sheila Mwanyigha to get funds from social media users.

Achieng had vowed not to give up on seeking funds for his son’s treatment even after two previous attempts proved unsuccessful.
“I believe that he will be able to live a normal life after he gets this treatment and seek your kind assistance towards this. I have tried to raise funds twice before but both times were totally unsuccessful. I am not giving up. I know that we can raise this money and will not stop till I get him the treatment he needs. I need your kind assistance,” the post reads in part.
