A member of the pop star trio Sema is currently in rehab for alcoholism.

Sema comprised of musicians Pam Waithaka, Sanaipei Tande and Kevin Waweru. They rocked the charts with their hits like Leo, Sakalakata and Leta Wimbo.

The group dispersed and they each sought out their fortunes as solo artistes. Sanaipei had her stint in radio before she quit to focus on her career. Kevin went back to school and little is known about what he is up to.

Pam is currently in rehab at The Serenity Place Rehabilitation Centre, situated in the up-market estate of Kahawa Sukari near Kenyatta University and the Kahawa Barracks.

"Pam is admitted in rehab following prolonged alcoholism," a source told The Star's Word Is. "She is admitted in the rehab for the second time following several relapses."

She was spotted at the rehab on Saturday during visiting hours, which take place from 9am to noon. She was the vocal talent of the Sema group and voted the most likely to succeed.

The rehab is a posh place that allows you to keep in touch with your family as you recover.

Beside Pam, celebrities who have been to rehab and come out to build careers for themselves include Bamzigi, Ray C, Jimwatt and Ugandan diva Jacque Chandiru.

Here are photos of Pam from back when she was in the music industry.
