Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura and his wife Nelius were blessed with triplets early last year but sadly, they lost two of the babies. In a long Facebook post, Mwaura narrated how life turned ugly for him and his wife leaving many in tears.

"MUKAMI AND I EVEN LOST TWO OF OUR TRIPLETS (A BOY AND A GIRL) AND WE WERE LEFT WITH ONLY ONE SON AND A HOSPITAL BILL OF 11.2 MILLION TO CLEAR NOT FORGETTING THAT WE WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF PARTY PRIMARY CAMPAIGNS. IT WAS REALLY TOUGH BUT WE KEPT THE FAITH."

Life became a nightmare for the power couple but through prayers and support from friends, they managed to get back on their feet. Recently, their only child turned 13-months-old.

Mukami says she has learnt a lot in marriage.

"In the last one year, I have learnt so much that we don't usually prepare for especially when it comes to marriage. life has its ups and downs which we can never fully anticipate or even prepare for so this is not about being prepared for every single situation that can occur in life. But ..... Am thinking there are conversations that need to be had about things that are happening every day. So disclaimer ...I am not a marriage expert , I am just learning but I feel some things need to be said out loud," she posted on Facebook.

Mwaura's wife went ahead to narrate how life became difficult for her young family after they lost two of their triplets.

"The thing that has really shaken me as a person and also shook our marriage with my husband was the death of our babies and also having a preemie baby," she said.

Mukami added:

"Because you can never really prepare for these things even when you're having premarital classes. You never talk about what happens when you lose a baby how do you deal with it. Maybe you prepare for some tragedies like if a spouse cheats or you're not getting along. Those are some of the things that we prepare for."

Mukami who has been very supportive of her politician husband, also talked about how the death of two of her triplets came as a shock, and how unexpected it was.

"Some of the things I never prepared for was the death of a child. We do a lot from baby showers to shopping but no one prepares for the death of a child. So when this happens it brings a very big strain on the marriage. Some marriages break because if you lose a child, you have to deal with emotions differently."

The mother of one revealed how she lived in denial after losing her babies and blamed herself for their death.

"When we lost our children I regretted, I blamed myself because I felt like I should have been the one who carried them to full term."
