First things first, let’s get it out of the way. The first SportPesa Mega Jackpot winner, Samuel Abisai who won a cool Ksh221,301,602 in May 2017 had most Kenyans dreaming. Actually, it had most Kenyans inspired and motivated. No one thought it was going to happen soon, yet in the best way ever, he did.

The 26-year-old’s life changed in a snap. Indeed he deserved it. He was able to fulfill his dreams. Samuel is now a big employer, running an expanded clothes design business. He had one store at Umoja and he now has a bigger one in Nairobi’s Central Business District. He’s also busy setting up a football academy in Kakamega, his rural home area. Reports have it that this is a glorious work in progress. So far, he’s been to Europe to source for material and advice on the modalities of the football academy.

Mind you, Samuel is not even close to spending a tenth of what he won. Read again – a cool Ksh221,301,602.

His win has also been felt by his close family members. The family home that was under construction when he won the money has since been finished. This could have been anyone and it still could be anyone.

Well then, now that that’s out of the way, let’s all set our eyes upon the next big one that’s coming up …and yes, you’re totally allowed to dream and then make your dream a reality because it could definitely be you.

Face it, it’s not far fetched from reality to be the next winner. The MegaJackpot is now at Ksh220,691,917 this week which is only Ksh609,685 shy of what was paid out to Samuel Abisai. If no one wins it, the amount will rise to more than what Abisai got last year.

Came close to winning

Last week, Zachary Ngechu came so close to winning the entire Mega Jackpot, had it not been for a costly change he made on one of the predictions at the last minute. Ngechu had initially predicted a win for Eibar in the LaLiga match against Las Palmas UD that was played on January 7 but later changed it to a draw before placing his bet. The game ended in a win for Eibar.

Nevertheless, Ngechu who was a green grocer in Kayole still won Ksh23,094,280 as a bonus for getting 16 correct predictions. Bonus payouts for the SportPesa Mega Jackpot are made from 12 correct predictions.
