Veteran artiste Mejja has introduced his mother to the online community for the first time.

Mejja, who's known for hit songs such as Okwonkwo, Jana Kuliendaje, Majengo shared a photo with his mother and captioned it,

'Na Khadija, My Mum, My Rock Big Up To All The Single Mothers Out There Mkuwe Na Siku Poa Wagenge GOD BLESS.'

The multitalented artiste was raised in Majengo slums, Nyeri county and he adopted his mother's name.

In a previous media interview, he said she is her inspiration, praising her.

'I call myself Khadija because my father was a sperm donor. As a child, I didn’t understand the sacrifices she made for us. Sometimes, I would find her crying in the house and she’d act like nothing was wrong. When I grew up and had my family, I realized she went through a lot to raise three boys. After coming to Nairobi, people would always comment about the name saying it’s a woman's so I started insisting mtoto wa Khadija. She’s my inspiration,' he said.
