Former K24 TV news anchor Betty Kyallo's father is proud of her. Speaking on Churchill Show on Sunday, Wilfred Kyallo, a retired major said,

Betty has been very consistent. she's very hardworking a go-getter. She has consistently been in the media until when she left K24 TV early this year. she had a bright future in the media. she is a blessing to us as a family and we love her so much.

He added,

she's very kind to us and humble. she was very bright in school and loved praying. most of the times she always reminded us when it was time to pray. she wasn't a troublesome kid. she was a child every parent would like to have and we're really proud of her. I love her so much.

Betty's parents separated when they were young but they are in good terms. Talking about his two daughters Mercy and Betty, he said,

I have enterprising daughters and happy for them. They are all achievers and whatever they do they do with a lot of passion and of course Betty leas the way. She's the best presenter in the country and people call me Baba Betty.

In a recent interview on Radio Jambo, Mercy revealed that her parents parted ways when she was 10 years old.

'MY DAD WENT ABROAD TO LOOK FOR GREENER PASTURES. THAT IS WHEN THEY PARTED, WE STRUGGLED FOR A WHILE BUT I THANK GOD BECAUSE HE HAS SUSTAINED US. MY DAD IS STILL ALIVE AND I STILL TALK TO HIM DESPITE HE AND MY MUM BREAKING UP,' she said.
