Westgate Mall is finally back in operation after the deadly 2013 al-Shabab militants attack.

September 21, 2013 remains one of the darkest days in Kenya's history. After the armed attackers ambushed shoppers at the Westgate Mall on Saturday afternoon. The deadly attack leading to a four-day siege left 67 people dead, hundreds injured, and the whole nation bleeding.

After an extensive refurbishment, the mall has reopened and yes shoppers have started streaming in! This is currently one of the safest mall in the country. (find out why in the story below)
