Jowie’s family is grateful to Kenyans and friends for the tremendous support. Jowie, the main suspect in the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani was released on Ksh 2 million cash bail last week.
But he is yet to be set free because his family hasn’t paid the cash bail. A pay bill number was put up to raise the amount and by Friday, the family had raised Ksh80,000.
Speaking to Mpasho.co.ke on phone, a family member who sought to remain anonymous said,
His friends are doing something and we hope by the end of the week he’ll be out. As a family, we’re happy for their gesture and very grateful,’ she said.
Jowie’s parents were so happy.
She also thanked the public for massive support.
Thank you so much for what you’ve done and we’re praying that this week he’ll be home.
Quite a number of Kenyans have shown the murder suspect love on social media and one Dennis Itumbi, Jacque Maribe’s (Jowie’s ex-lover) and in a post he wrote,
WELCOME TO THE FREE WORLD JOWIE. BEING GRANTED BAIL WAS LONG OVERDUE. WE WILL CONTINUE PRAYING THAT JUSTICE IS DONE FOR ALL, THE LATE MONICA, JACQUE AND YOURSELf.
Jowie was in prison for 500 days.
