The embattled manager of child star Wendy Waeni, Joe Mwangi, was at a Milimani court.

Police sought to have Mwangi to be detained for seven days on allegations of forgery.

Mwangi allegedly forged a letter purporting it to be a letter from the Interior CS Fred Matiang'i and sent it to the complainant Magdalene Syombua, so as to intimidate her.

The prosecution claims that Joe intends to travel to London for purposes of evading the jurisdiction of the court.

They have further claimed that Joe switched off his mobile phones and that is why it was difficult to arrest him.

His defence has however submitted that his phones were off as Joe was avoiding numerous messages from unknown people hence he felt threatened.

Senior Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi has directed that Joe Mwangi be detained for 5 days pending investigation.
