As the world celebrates International women's day Kenyan artist Wendy Kimani has talked of her fears back in the day when she shot to fame.

According to Wendy she was afraid of posting photos online as she was never sure how people would react.

'WHAT MAKES YOU PROUD TO BE A WOMAN TODAY?

🧑🏿‍🦱🧑🏾‍🦱🧑🏽‍🦱👩🏻‍🦰👱🏼‍♀️👧🏻👩‍🦳👵🏿

Vulnerability alert!🙈

I've had a fear of posting on social media for the longest time. I believe it came from being shoved into the limelight overnight (Tusker Project Fame). So the thoughts that went through my head were:

💁🏾‍♀️What will people think?

💁🏾‍♀️Am I living up to their expectation.

💁🏾‍♀️My life is not insta-glamourous enough for the gram.

💁🏾‍♀️Everything I put out must be perfect.

💁🏾‍♀️I'll embarrass myself by being myself.

So what if all these things happen? 🤷🏾‍♀️

Wendy decided to break out of her cocoon and she hasn't looked back ever since.

'Then so be it! So last year September I jumped into the deep end and decided to start creating content because that's what I love to do and vowed to figure out what I don't know as I go.

So I jumped into the deep end and started with my most vulnerable and what I thought was an embarrassing situation. PCOS! and you all shared your stories with me and your support kept me going!

And the most amazing thing is, I got back to Music which is my number one LOVE!!!

To all the women that follow me and that are reading this. Thank you for the laughs, for the encouraging words, for being vulnerable enough to share your struggles and stories in my comments and DMs. I'm conquering my fears slowly every day and my goal for this page is TO HELP YOU DO THE SAME.'

Her advise

'Let's celebrate us, our complexities, our sensitivities, our strength, our minds, our softness, our vulnerabilities. To the Men that are roOting for us, WE THANK YOU!
